As many of you know, I spent last fall in Maui, HI doing a Discipleship Training School with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). YWAM is an international non-profit organization that is focused on raising up young, fire-hearted people to be passionate about Jesus + equipping them to take the gospel to the nations. During my time in Maui, we had daily lectures where we dug deep into the heart of God + explored His Word and character in depth. This was followed by a three month outreach to Bangladesh where we shared the amazing story of His redeeming love in a nation of primarily Muslim + Hindu people. The Lord opened my eyes to see a broken world, desperate for true freedom that only the gospel can bring. I got to see a glimpse of how God is powerfully moving in the nations- bringing revival to even the darkest of places. His desire is for everyone to know Him + we are called to be vessels for this truth. And this is why I feel so passionate about serving YWAM - because of their vision to see all nations come to know who Jesus is.

This coming December, I have the incredible opportunity to return to Maui as a member of their staff! YWAM Maui runs the Discipleship Training School (DTS) in the fall, winter + spring. They send outreach teams to four different nations- Bangladesh, Nepal, China + Indonesia/Thailand.

I recently found out my role for the Winter Quarter will be working in the office as the Registrar! While I'm not in the office, I want to also walk alongside the students as well- discipling them and pouring into their lives during their DTS. It is my desire to speak such truth into their lives + see the students encounter the living God in a tangible, life changing way.  My heart was completely transformed during my time as a student in Maui and now I am humbled to have the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of future students!

I fly out of Edmonton on December 27 and will jump right in to life on base! The first week we'll be having staff conference, training for our roles + prepping the base for the Winter School! Our students already start to arrive on the 30th! I am so stoked to be back with my Ohana + to begin this crazy adventure! I left some information below if you want to support my work with YWAM.

Much love,

YWAM Maui requires all staff to make a 2 year commitment to the base. Although this is a large commitment, I know that the Lord is a faithful provider to those who are obedient and will meet any and all of my physical + spiritual needs. Working with YWAM would not be possible without the support of my incredible friends + family! The main ways you can support me over the net 2 years are through prayer + finances.

+  A smooth move and transition, for my VISA to be approved
+  Greater vision for my time on staff
+  That the Lord will prepare my heart to step into a role of leadership and discipleship
+  Financial needs will be met
+  Wisdom and boldness
+  That the staff would be unified + passionate

During my 2 years in Maui (Dec 2015-Dec 2017), it is my responsibility to raise my own funding. I am required to pay $250 U.S./month in staff fees (room and board), plus any additional living expenses + plane tickets. In total, YWAM Maui recommends each staff member has approximately $500 US/month in committed support. If you feel lead to support my time working with YWAM, you can choose to give a one-time donation or monthly donations. Any donations, small or big, will make a significant impact and are greatly appreciated!

Got a chance to snap some portraits of my rad, #girlboss sister who is a
talented photographer, designer and, above all, an incredible person.

I used to be quite the pessimist when it came to flowers- why would you spend money on something that will shortly die?
But as time has gone on, I've become completely obsessed.
I can't get enough of flowers + beautiful floral arrangements.
They add such a darling touch to any space, if only for a little while.

There is something about summer that makes me a whole lot more motivated to pursue different projects + spend more time accomplishing goals i've had for a while. I have all these ideas swirling around in my head of things I want to do, so i thought that making a fairly short + condensed list would be a good way to help some of those things come to fruition!

CREATE | This seems super vague, but in general I want to spend less time on technology and more time being intentional in creating beautiful things that I am proud of. Trying my hand at a new craft or taking on projects that might be a little out of my comfort zone!

BLOG | I have definitely neglected my blog over these past few months which makes me sad because it is something that I truly love doing + is seriously such a great creative outlet! My goal is to post at least once a week- so y'all can keep me accountable to that haha.

SHOOT | More portrait sessions + creative shoots!

HOST | I've wanted to put on a beautifully styled outdoor dinner party for a long time and I'm hoping that this is the summer its going to happen! (AND maybe it'll become an annual deal!)

TRAVEL | I totally take for granted the fact that I live just a few hours away from some of the most beautiful places in the world. My goal is to take at least two trips to the mountains before the end of August! Even if it's just a day trip to the Rockies to discover new hikes + soak up the incredible views.

So there it is. My (i think very reasonable) list of goals for the next couple of months! What are your summer goals? I'd love to hear them:)

Much love,

I've been back in Canada for a few weeks now and I'm already missing the foggy west coast. We set out on our adventure on sunday morning and spent the next day and a half driving through BC and Washington before arriving in Canon Beach, Oregon for a couple days. I can't even count the amount of times I commented on how beautiful the views were or how green the trees were along the way (sorry to my car mates haha). But seriously, the drive was incredible!

In Canon Beach we stayed in the teeniest, most darling cabin that was a five minute walk to the beach. We explored the small town, picnicked on the beach and hiked through Ecola State Park (which I would highly recommend!) Despite the rain, we embraced the west coast weather and spent most of our time outside, soaking up our surroundings.

After our time in Canon Beach, we hopped back in the trusty old Camry and headed up to Portland for a few days. Portland definitely lived up to the hype! There is so much to do and see and explore- I'm sure we could've spent a few more days wondering around the city.

I put together a little list of some of the places you should hit up if you're traveling to Portland! Disclaimer: most of them have to do with food or coffee. sorry not sorry.
